"Do you have the patience to wait FOUR years????
That is how long it will take you before you can harvest your first beans from your own coffee plant, (Coffea arabica). In the meantime, you can enjoy the dark shiny green leaves and fragrant white flowers of this very unique, ornamental plant."

  1. Depending on variety, altitude, and weather conditions the time from blossom to harvest is eight to nine months. The "cherries" on a tree do not mature all at the same time. With most varieties you have to return and pick ripe fruit time after time.

  2. I have two Coffea arabica in pots. They produced beans regularly after about ten months.

I grew coffee trees commercially at my nursery and it was not unusual for the trees to have a few beans after only a few months. Of course this was in the tropics.

These trees (pruned into shrubs for ease of harvesting) grow quickly and can be considered mature in about two years in good growing conditions.
