Where does American coffee come from?

Question by C-Bag: Where does American coffee come from?
If Columbian coffee is made from coffee beans grown in Columbia, then where does Amercan coffee come from? Where are Folgers and Maxwell house beans from?

ummm they kid nap the coffee beans from columbia and use those i guess i have no clue

  1. there's no such thing as "american" coffee. most if not all of the coffee we drink are imported from abroad. there was a time during 17th to 19th centuries that coffee was grown here in the states but not anymore. but why would you buy "american" coffee if it existed, coffee from africa and colombia would taste way better.

  2. Coffee beans are grown in different countries and then shipped to the USA. Several manufacturers of American Coffee such as Folgers, Chase & Sanborn etc buy the Green Coffee Beans and blend different types of beans together. After they are blended the beans are roasted and then either ground into coffee or sold as whole beans.
    In addition to the brands seen in stores commercial coffee houses make and sell their products to restaurants etc.
    No coffee beans are grown in the USA but they are in South America, Brazil, Africa and many other countries.
