I want to know if there is any HARD evidence that 100% Kona Coffee is any better for you or worse for you in ANY way than regular coffee. It's premium and grown better yes yes, but nutrition-wise or boost-wise (by boost I mean awakening, refreshing, mood-enhancing) is it any better or worse than regular?

Our dark roast has a more complex taste. because these beans are roasted to a higher temperature, the aromatic oils within the bean are drawn to the surface of the bean where they caramelize and turn a deep, rich dark brown

For just 15 cents more per cup than all the mass market brands that use imported coffee, you can buy local, U.S. grown 100% Hawaiian Kona Coffee and support the only coffee farmers in the U.S.
I've been drinking Kona coffee since high school and college in Hawaii. I love it, and my husband thinks it's too strong. It's a matter of taste! I'm still alive and kicking, so it obviously hasn't killed me yet..
Give your answer to this question below!
Health wise, it makes no difference. It is not better our worse for you than any other coffee grown any where else.
ReplyDeleteThe us no such thing as a coffee that is better for you health wise.
it's not better or worse for you than any other kind of coffee. it all comes from the same tree. kona is grown on volcanic soil, so it's supposed to taste a lot better.
ReplyDeleteFresh roasted Kona tastes excellent so from a health stand point you are in a much better mood and your day is set for achievement. As compared to canned grocery store coffees in which the taste is depressing and it gives you a sour stomach.
ReplyDeleteFrom a stomach stand point any fresh roasted coffee is easier on your stomach than stale can coffees for acid. Also Kona is a smoother richer coffee then say Sumatran (both are great though).
Personal note when I started drinking coffee I did the FOlgers thing and had acid problems big time. Now that I drink only fresh roast I have no acid issues due to coffee (Little Ceasers is a different story altogether).
Other than that your question is flawed in that the assumption that "regular coffee" is worth drinking in the first place, what is regular coffee anyway? Before the 19th century commercially roasted coffee was uncommon and for the upper class. If you wanted coffee you bought the green beans and roasted it yourself. In MY mind that makes home roasted coffee the standard of regular coffee and better for you all the way around anyway.
Final answer, there is no hard evidence in coffee and if there is it will be disputed later...
