What is the green coffee bean? Should I give it a try?

Question by Phoebe: What is the Green Coffee Bean? Should I give it a try?
Can someone give me an unbiased, informed summary of the Green Coffee Bean? I have heard a lot about it, but I don't know what is true and what is just gossip. Also, my family has a long history of weight issues. I could drop a few pounds. I usually don't buy into any diet/supplement craze, but I am curious about this one. Please, no comments about how exercise and healthy eating is the way to weight loss. I have healthy habits and I've been working with my physician to lose weight, but nothing he's had me do is working, probably due to my family weight issues. Should I give the Green Coffee Bean a try?

  2. Just another "miracle weight loss cure".
Dr. Oz mentions some food component that can "help" weight loss and the con artists are all over it.
Green coffee bean extract is high in antioxidants.
A diet high in antioxidant foods can help increase your metabolism.
An increase in metabolism can burn more calories.
    Green coffee causes weight loss!
Green coffee doesn't have any more antioxidants than blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries. At 10 times the price because it is "exotic". Small red beans are the top antioxidant food. But they are boring and not sexy.
The same stretch of the imagination marketing applies to acai, green tea capsules, maquiberry, hoodia, moyoberry, gojiberry, fruta planta, hoodia, raspberry ketones, and african mango seed extract pills.
Spending the same $ 2 to $ 10 a day on this junk would pay for a great gym membership.
The only weight loss supplement I recommend is a basic multivitamin.
A healthy diet high in both soluble and insoluble fiber is the only safe way there is.

  4. The is real science behind this story. An substance contained in raw Green Coffee Beans contains an antioxidant called chlorogenic aciid, which helps control spikes in blood sugar, which in turn helps lose weight.
