What should I eat to keep a healthy hair?

Question by Tryn to get Big: What should I eat to keep a healthy hair?
Should I stop drinking coffee? I heard it depletes or kills your vitamens needed for the day. I notice my hair sheds alot - when I drink coffee throughout the week. Any suggestions ?

i know i cant control genetics but im only 21. I need a full set of hair - till my 40s haha or mid 30s

Healthy Hair Food No. 1: Salmon
When it comes to foods that pack a beauty punch, it's hard to beat salmon. Loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, this high-quality protein source is also filled with vitamin B-12 and iron.
"Essential omega-3 fatty acids are needed to support scalp health," says Andrea Giancoli, MPH, RD, a dietitian in Los Angeles and a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association. "A deficiency can result in a dry scalp and thus hair, giving it a dull look."
Vegetarian? Include one or two tablespoons of ground flaxseed in your daily diet for some plant-based omega-3 fats.

Healthy Hair Food No. 2: Dark Green Vegetables
Popeye the Sailor Man didn't eat all that spinach for healthy hair, but he could have. Spinach, like broccoli and Swiss chard, is an excellent source of vitamins A and C, which your body needs to produce sebum. The oily substance, secreted by your hair follicles, is the body's natural hair conditioner.
Dark green vegetables also provide iron and calcium.

Healthy Hair Food No. 3: Beans
Beans, beans, they're good for your ... hair?
Yes, it's true. Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide plentiful protein to promote hair growth, but ample iron, zinc, and biotin. While rare, biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.

Blatner, who is also a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, recommends three or more cups of lentils or beans each week.
Healthy Hair Food No. 4: Nuts

Do you go nuts for thick, shiny hair? You should.
Brazil nuts are one of nature's best sources of selenium, an important mineral for the health of your scalp.
Walnuts contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help condition your hair. They are also a terrific source of zinc, as are cashews, pecans, and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure nuts are a regular on your healthy hair menu.

Healthy Hair Food No. 5: Poultry
Chickens and turkeys may have feathers, but the high-quality protein they provide will help give you the healthy hair you crave.
"Without adequate protein or with low-quality protein, one can experience weak brittle hair, while a profound protein deficiency can result in loss of hair color," Giancoli tells WebMD.
Poultry also provides iron with a high degree of bioavailability, meaning your body can easily reap its benefits.

Healthy Hair Food No. 6: Eggs
When it comes to healthy hair, it doesn't matter whether you like your eggs scrambled, fried, or over easy. However they're served up, eggs are one of the best protein sources you can find.

what starbucks drink should i get?

Question by k, bye: what starbucks drink should i get?
I just moved down the street from a Starbucks & I want to know which drink I should get. I really like super sweet drinks that hardly taste like coffee. Please don't say anything like tea ha ha. I usually like the cold drinks :)
I used to get the iced caramel macchiato but I started to hate the strong coffee taste it had. I used to looove the salted caramel frappuccino but they dont sell them anymore, I dont think (wasn't it only for the Christmas drinks, do they still have it)? I also used to get the vanilla bean frappuccino but I want to try something new.

If I want to start a home business of roasting coffee and selling it online, what home roaster should I buy?

Question by Captain Hydro: If I want to start a home business of roasting coffee and selling it online, what home roaster should I buy?

I've done it with a popcorn popper. A restaurant owner recently expressed an interest in purchasing some so I was thinking of upgrading my hardware.

This is tricky, since many states do not allow "home roasting" equipment as they put out chemicals. I own a coffee roasting business so I can tell you this with a high level of expertise.
You need to check with both your state and county laws before you buy anything. It would really suck for you to pay out a couple of grand and then get a ticket for air pollution! Also, you may have to pay sales tax on internet sales depending on what state you are in. You also need a business licence to sell anything.
If you get the go ahead, then get a small drum roaster, it really tastes so much better than air roasters (you may as well use a popcorn popper!) The drum roasters are around $ 1,000.00. We recommend the Euroroast. But there are a lot out there. Don't go with cheap ones, as they will fry after several batches. Home roasters will only roast about 8 oz at a time. It is pain, and very, very messy. The clean up for any roaster is about 30 minutes after each batch (due to the sticky chaff). If you don't clean it out, you will get a fire (which your homeowners insurance will not cover, and if you rent, you risk a law suite if you don't have written permission from the owner to use a home roaster).
Also keep in mind you will need to source green beans (you will need to buy a full bag weighing about 130 lbs at no less than $ 2.00 per pound).
If you still really want to roast, but the information I have provided you with seems like a headache (which it is), then I HIGHLY recommend that you find a local roaster (they are in almost every state) and have them toll roast for you for a small fee. You don't have to worry about the nasty roasting operation, and you can still roast the coffee to your specifications. However, you still have to have a small business licence.
I don't personally recommend that anyone go into the coffee business right now. The market is fully saturated on-line. You are better off finding a coffee you love (by requesting samples around $ 1.00 each) and purchasing it.

What Green Coffee Bean Extract should I use or actually works?

Question by Bree96zy: What Green Coffee Bean Extract should I use or actually works?
This is what I get from most sites...."Oz said he would not endorse any one product because he didn't want his name associated with it, but people should look for Green Coffee Beans extract with at least 45 percent chlorogenic acid and the recommended dosage was 400 mg."
Then I others telling me to that it should be 50% chlorogenic acid and dosages of 800 mg. And it shouldn't have caffeine and should be made in US only. No added ingredients (like green tea, African mango, acai, kelp, caffeine, etc.) that would prevent the coffee bean from doing it's full job.
Some people are saying that the green tea does work.

I just don't know who to trust. I'm even debating if I should just grow my own but I doubt I can even take care of a plant.
I work out alot, eat healthier, and lower my portions of meals. I'm gradually losing weight, but I just need a bit more of a push. Trying to lose up to 20lbs and that's it.
Please help...
Which brand should I trust with my money and body?

What is the green coffee bean? Should I give it a try?

Question by Phoebe: What is the Green Coffee Bean? Should I give it a try?
Can someone give me an unbiased, informed summary of the Green Coffee Bean? I have heard a lot about it, but I don't know what is true and what is just gossip. Also, my family has a long history of weight issues. I could drop a few pounds. I usually don't buy into any diet/supplement craze, but I am curious about this one. Please, no comments about how exercise and healthy eating is the way to weight loss. I have healthy habits and I've been working with my physician to lose weight, but nothing he's had me do is working, probably due to my family weight issues. Should I give the Green Coffee Bean a try?

What foods should some one whose trying to gain muscle and lose fat eat and avoid?

Question by .: What foods should some one whose trying to gain muscle and lose fat eat and avoid?
Is their certain types of foods that I should cut back entirely or can I just minimize how much of it I eat (like ice cream for example). I know fast food is a no no. How about chocolate once a week? Or coffee? Etc? Im not really knowledgable as to what I should eat and what I should avoid, and not only that, but how much I can eat of certain types of foods.

Best answer:

Answer by Tricia M
Stay away from fast food - you're definitely right! Also, you want to AVOID whole milk (especially cheese), red meat, butter, potatoes, sugar, and anything overprocessed - such as white bread. Eat lots of whole foods - like fruits, vegetables, legumes (nuts and beans), multi-grain bread, fish, egg whites, chicken breast, etc. My favorite SUPERFOODS (foods that help gain muscle and lose fat) - beans, broccoli, blueberries, chicken, oats, oranges, pumpkin, pomegranate, salmon, soy, spinach, tea (green or black), tomatoes, and walnuts. Try to keep your coffee and diet soda consumption down to two or less a day. If you find yourself craving chocolate - dark chocolate is your best option. Hope this helps!

What Brand of Green Bean Extract should I Buy?

Question by Nicholas DiTaranto: What Brand of Green Bean Extract should I Buy?
I want to buy a 1 month supply of the Green bean extract and i only have $ 43.01 in my paypal and i want to get it shipped to my house. What company is the best? I hear that some are low quality and can cause bad symptoms. I would like to hear from people that have tried multiple brands and maybe results?

Best answer:

Answer by Brown Eyes
I think you mean Green Coffee Bean Extract.

Go to www.droz.com

Dr. Oz has a place on his website that gives specific answers as to what kind to buy and where to buy it. I wouldn't buy any other kind as he and he team have researched the type he recommends on his site and his site only.

Type Green Coffee Bean extract in the search box at the top of his web site page.

Should a 14 year old be taking weight loss supplements?

Question by Hannah: Should a 14 year old be taking weigt loss supplements?
My daughter is 5'1 and 166 pounds. She is a select softball player and pretty active. She really wants to lose weight so she got interested in Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract. Its all natural and very promising and doesn't seem to have any doubts or complications. Would it hurt a 14 year old? Or no? I don't think it would hurt her. What's your take on it?

Best answer:
Answer by Tyler
At 14, I don't think she should be taking anything that compromises her metabolic rate as it may confuse her body. She is going through a necessary stage of puberty and the fat that is storing in her body is needed for her growth. Also, you have to consider the mentality a 14 year old girl will grow in to as she becomes a woman if she starts taking supplements at this stage, she will probably find the need to explore harsher supplements as she grows older and she will grow in to obsessing over her physical appearance. I don't think anyone should start exploring dietary supplements until they are at least 18 years old or older and the extra fat is no longer needed for proper developement. No matter how organic or herbal a supplement may be, it is still in some way or another boosting her natural metabolic rate. I just think 14 is too young to be exploring weight loss. Consult your physician if need be.
