What do you think? Answer below!
Since each person is different and requires different amount of nutrients, and calories to function well, there is no need to concern yourself about the amount of calories you should consume as about eating the proper foods. Rotate your foods, and be sure to eat a variety of foods. Eat meals that consist of a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and some fat. When there is inadequate intake of certain essential nutrients, fat is not easily or adequately burned and can accumulate in the body. By eating balanced meals you get more steady blood sugar levels and the ability to burn stored body fat for long-term weight loss.
ReplyDeleteEat fresh fruits and an abundance of raw vegetables. Have one meal each day that consists entirely of vegetables and fruits. Use more low calorie vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, green beans, kale, lettuce, onions, radishes, spinach, and turnips. Eat more of the low calorie, low-carbohydrate fruits including, apples, cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, and watermelon.
Eat foods raw where possible. Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water each day. Also include home made fruit juices and vegetable juices in your diet. Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables - at least all kinds that you can get your hands on. Just eat more of the low cal., low carb ones. Eat at least 3 times per day, your breakfast being the largest and very nutritious. And do not forget to take exercise.
Example of meals
Breakfast:- a complex carbohydrate (yam, green banana, potato, etc.), steamed green leafy vegetable, meat or fresh, fruits, mixed with nuts, and seeds.
Mid Afternoon meal:- of meat or fish, 1 or 2 complex carbohydrate (eg. yam, potatoes, pumpkin etc), a mixture of raw vegetables, (eg. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, yellow or red sweet pepper, shredded carrots), varied mixture of steam vegetables (eg a leafy vegetable and/or string beans, or a vegetable salad)
If you'd like to add drink - preferably home made fruit or vegetable juice.
Evening Meal:- A mixture of different fruits with nuts and seeds. Or a mixture of different raw vegetables with nuts, seeds, and cheese.
The above examples are just guidelines that you may follow. You should vary your meals.

ReplyDeletesounds like you may not be taking enough calories try starting a program like weight watchers it teaches you the right foods and you have to start with more food than you think and work your way down as you loose because otherwise you body thinks it is in starvation mode
ReplyDeletecut out the pop first of all.. it's loaded with sugar and sodium, you should always eat breakfast it jump starts your metabolism. eat lean proteins and workout more walking isn't gonna do you need to intensify your workouts. and eat low fat and low sodium, limit your carbs.
ReplyDeleteI am also trying to llose weight. Ditch the soda and drink fruit juice instead. If you like the fizz try a ginger ale (although I'm not big on GA).
ReplyDeleteEat breakfast. It doesn't have to be huge. I drink a small can of V-8 (buy the low sodium stuff) and have a hard boiled egg, or some cottage cheese for breakfast.
About 2-3 hours later have a yougurt with granola on top, then eat a moderate sized lunch, a couple of hours later have some whole wheat or grain carckers, or 1/2 a bagel etc... then have dinner and I usually have an orange as a "snack" before bed time.
Milk is good to drink as it fills you up, and if you drink skim or low fat it is also low in calories.
Eat whole grains pastas and so on instead of white flour pasta's. Use brown rice (or a 50/50 mix of brown and white) and wild rice.
These all will fill you up faster and don't breakdown the same at white starches.
Also avoid sodium as much as possibble. Pretty much anything pre-packaged will be full of sodium. Make everything you can from scratch and try to stay around 3,000 mg of sodium per day or less.
The number one thing you should keep in mind for losing weight is two things, lifestyle and diet.
ReplyDeleteLifestyle is pretty much your routines you do everyday. Obviously your not gonna lose weight sitting on the couch(I'm not saying you do:P). Anything that has a negative effect on you, you need to break the habit(kinda like that song from linkin park:D).
Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs, go play sports and if your not that kinda guy, then there is tons of different activities you can do. Me personally, I've been doing muay thai for over 4 1/2 years and I can't live without it. It works everything on your body and I mean EVERYTHING. Its much more of a workout then just going to the gym.
As for diet, eat healthy and dont starve yourself or follow those low calorie diet such as atkins. Would just destroy your health. Don't believe those "low fat" food since most of the time they have no nutrients and their only junk! Eat there is tons of things your can eat that, even though there is fat, its still good for you. For a good guide on diet, I actually got this for my mom.
