For breakfast today I had some oatmeal with a piece of fruit (orange). I also took a Green Coffee Bean extract before with some bottled water.
Then I had a small piece of grilled chicken with a little bit of vegetables on the side with a little cheese. I also drank water and took Green Coffee Bean extract, too.
Later I might have a turkey burger or a grilled piece of chicken with some corn.
Does it sound healthy so far? I want to lose 50 pounds by next summer.
I'll most likely eat the turkey burger with whole-wheat bread like always.

If you want to lose weight really fast, there is 1 basic rule. This rule is: Only eat meat, fruits and veggies. If you eat that burger, it has bread in it. Bread is good for gaining weight, not loosing it. If you have to eat bread, it is recommenced to eat bread with a lot of fibre in it.

It sounds healthy so far, but it doesn't sound like you are consuming a lot of calories. Make sure that you are getting at least 1500 calories in each day. If you try to lose weight by starving yourself, or even eating only a small portion of your daily needs, this can cause more bad problems for you than losing weight. Remember, fruit and vegetables do not harm a diet. Eat more of these along with lean meats. Try adding in an exercise routine to your diet. Cardio is a great start and you can add in strength training as well.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have enough carbohydrates in your diet. Carbs are not the enemy - simple sugars and highly refined carbs are. Whole grain carbs are fine, even when losing weight. You probably need to add some carbohydrates to your lunch.
ReplyDeleteYou eat plenty of vegetables, this is a good thing. Most people don't eat enough. Your choice of proteins is also good - grilling and baking is good, frying and breading is bad. You don't have to avoid red meat, it has some health benefits in moderation, and you should look into adding fish into your diet as well. Variety makes keeping a healthy, balanced diet easier.
There is no evidence to suggest that Green Coffee Bean extract does any of the things it claims. It so far has not been studied under conditions that would actually tell us if it works - take it if you want, to my knowledge it doesn't have any harmful effects, but it is probably a waste of money. Your diet alone is healthy enough for you to reach your goals if you stick with it, and be sure you are getting some physical activity.
Great so far! But that other commenter is right, you need at least 1500 - 1700 calories per day. Otherwise you'll slow your metabolism and end up gaining weight once you reach your goal and stop the diet. To lose weight and maintain that loss, you need to do it gradually. Don't be discouraged though, time goes quickly and next summer is a very reasonable goal.
ReplyDeleteAdd a tbsp of pecans or walnuts to your yogurt, add some avocado to your lunch, add some brown rice to your dinner. Done :)
Also don't listen to PigFat. Our bodies use up all types of energy equally - the "don't eat carbs" fad is a misconception and really unhealthy-- and is proven to lead to weight GAIN in the long run. The key is balance and variety. See a nutritionist if you can :) She'll be able to help a lot.
