How to lose 10 pounds?

Question by ws_422: How to lose 10 pounds?
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Green Coffee Bean diet? I am 5'8 and I weight 150lbs. I had checked my weight to height ratio and it stated that I am where I am supposed to be. I don't think that is where I should be in my mind. I look in the mirror and I see what appears to me a muffin top and big hips and thighs. My husband tells me that I am not fat and so do my kids but, I am not happy with myself at all and I need to loose 10-15lbs. I had bought Green Coffee Bean diet supplements but, I now think that what I bought was a knock off because I haven't lost a pound. I don't eat breakfast or do I eat lunch. I will have a half a cup of peanuts and then nothing after that. I eat a normal dinner but at night when I sit down to watch t.v that is when I have these horrible cravings for sweets like cookies or a pop tart. It is really hard to fight off that urge and I usually give in. Please help with any advice that you have. I don't want jokes or rudeness like some people get. This is something that really bothers me because I am now 40 and I have never had these love handles or muffin top and it gets me depressed. Thank you in advance.

Don't fall for the fad diet, just don't buy the snacks that are satiating your craving, and you will slowly lose the 10lbs. If you exercise just a little more it will help. Needless to say you are not in the over weight category at 150lbs.

  1. It sounds like you're trying to get get toned. Your family is probably right that you are not fat. Average weight for females at 5'8 are around 146-150. So it sounds like you're in the right weight range. I've heard of Green Coffee Bean extract but have not found much evidence on it's results. I feel the difference may not to be lose weight but to get rid of excess fat cells. My advice would try to exercise with the light resistance training. This will help build and retain muscle (you won't get bulky like bodybuilders or anything). Add 30-45 minutes of moderate intensity cardio every other day. In addition, when you do build muscle, it will aid in losing fat, increasing metabolism which may help with your evening cravings. Also, try eating breakfast even if only a bowl of cereal. This will give your metabolism a boost for the day. Plenty of water and protein will help as well.
I don't know what your other eating habits are but eat clean with veggies, chicken, fish, oats and fruits. I would recommend to stay away from the scale because that can be your worst enemy especially if you're in the right weight range. You're trying to aesthetically change (remove muffin top) so dieting alone will not remove it. However your diet in combination with an exercise routine will help you.

I'm not too familiar with green coffee extract, nor have I seen much evidence for results. You may want to check into CLA (conjugated linolec acid) and MCTs (medim chain tryglicerides). I have found that these have results (from personal experience), especially with a proper diet and exercise.

Sorry for the long answer, I wanted to include as much info as I could. Good luck, stay away from the scale, eat right, exercise and be confident. Remember change won't happen overnight.

    I hope this helps.

  2. okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a slow cooker /food steamer & rice/pasta cooker to make it easy on you)...(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)...avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc...and drink mainly water (green tea , juice & milk being the other options you drink). If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

    * you should lose about 10 lbs per month
