Between instant, ground, and fresh ground what are the main differences caffeine wise? Does instant have less, does fresh ground have the most? or does it depend on how much coffee you use?
thanks in advance.

I think it should depend where the coffee is and what type. Not if it is instant or fresh. And yes it depends on how much your use. Hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteesspresso
most people think esspresso has more but it is totally opposite regular coffee has more per cup
Instant coffee typically has the highest content of caffeine. If you're looking for a jolt, get a soda (much higher content than coffee). The difference between previously ground and fresh is negligible at best. It DEFINITELY depends on the amount of grounds per cup, though, for full effect unless we're talking espresso. Typically, a good rule of thumb is 1 tbsp for every 2 full cups. It'll be strong, but good and gives the best, truest flavor of the bean. For less buzzing, you can add an extra 1/2 cup of water per every tbsp.

Coffee, Espresso (2 ounces) 100
Coffee, Instant 65-100
Tea, iced 47
Tea, brewed, imported brands (avg.) 60
Tea, brewed, U.S. brands (avg.) 40
Tea, instant 30
Tea, green 15

Coffee, Decaf, brewed 3-4

Rather than the method of grinding, the method of brewing and the type of beans used determine the amount of caffeine in coffee and tea.
It depends on the ROAST of the coffee, no matter what type you buy. The more a coffee bean has been roasted, the LESS caffeine it has - ergo, the darker the roast, the LESS caffeine. Contrary to popular belief, espresso actually has less caffeine than a cup of regular coffee. The problem is that you need 2 cups of espresso to equal 1 regular sized cup of coffee:) ... Obviously, the more coffee you use, the more caffeine that will be in your cup of coffee:) ....Black tea, coke and chocolate actually have more caffeine than coffee
ReplyDeleteHow much caffeine there is in a cup of coffee depends on many factors including: how big the cup, how finely the coffee is ground, how dark the roast, the brewing method used, how much coffee is used to make the drink and the type of coffee bean used.
ReplyDeleteThe beans of Arabica coffee, grown at higher altitudes contain less caffeine than Robusta beans.
Average cup of instant coffee = 75mg caffeine

Hope that helps
